Help! My Silhouette Cameo Mat Isn’t Sticky!

Has your Cameo cutting mat lost its stick? We’ve got solutions for getting your stick back.

Your Cameo cutting mat is critical for good cuts, but it can lose its stickiness over time. Here are some solutions for getting your stick back!
1. Scrape off the remnants. When you lift your project off your mat, remove all the little leftovers — scraps and negative spaces. You can use the very useful Silhouette Scraper to remove all those paper pieces.

2. Keep your mat covered. When not in use, make sure your mat is covered with the original blue plastic backing. If you’ve tossed that, you can use a piece of plastic wrap.

3. Wash it. It’s okay to wash your mat with warm water and a tad of soap. Let it air dry, because if you try to dry it with a towel, you’ll end up with a lint-fest.

4.Use repositionable adhesive spray to “freshen” your mat. A good bet is the Slice temporary adhesive spray. Read the instructions and follow them carefully, as you will need to let the surface sit for a few minutes after spraying in order for the adhesive to work.

5. If all else fails, buy a new one. Yeah, that’s not so fun, but it’s worth it to get the delicate cuts you want. You can get new mats from Amazon here: Silhouette Cameo Mat.
